truebluemeandyou: DIY Snowflake Scarf Free Pattern from The Purl Bee here. This scarf is knitted on size 15 needles so it will go really quickly. For knitting 101 and resources of where to find good knitting tutorials go to my post from inspiration & realisation here. I also want to knit this honeycomb scarf here. Any suggestions for cheaper wool than what is mentioned for this tutorial ( $19.50 per skein, 4 skeins needed of Super Soft Merino)? I don’t knit but I know a lot of my followers do, so here’s a free pattern for a pretty scarf.

I would use some other type of fabric and maybe a fusible iron-on interfacing on the back of my applique if I made this - just my sewing preference. If one of my sewing/fashion blogging friends reads this, what fabric would you use other than felt to make this applique on a fine gauge sweater? *For more knockoffs go here: truebluemeandyou.tumblr.com/tagged/knockoff

Easiest instructions I’ve read so far - still a ton of work, but worth it (I’ve done 2 quilts using small squares of flannel that have this same type of look and are gorgeous). From recovergirl here. *When I was going to do felting I looked up tutorials on felting in the washing machine. I found several that suggested different ways of doing it (putting the bags in mesh bags etc…) to keep from totally gunking up your machine.

For the truly insane Potter knitters it’s the Ron Weasley blanket project.

I’m seriously tempted to abandon my enormous, never-ending, log cabin blankie and do this one instead.

When you go to the actual website and then the pattern for this - it is amazing. The author of the pattern has Ron’s blanket used as sources for almost every square.
