I immediately got a message from someone saying that there’s been reports of Canyon Creek products making dogs sick. Not wanting to chance it, I threw all those treats away (X’ed out in the picture). I’m glad I did bc yesterday they officially recalled all their products. If you have any CANYON CREEK or MILO’S KITCHEN products (very popular in LA, they’re front row in every dog store), throw them out immediately or go to your local Petsmart/Petco for a refund. Spread the news around to any dog owners, bc there’s been a lot of reports of dogs getting seriously ill or dying from these treats. Waggin’ Train is included in the recall as well! Protect your pups!

I’m currently trying to raise funds to pay for my psychiatric treatment in atlanta, georgia. the treatment is $2,000 a week, plus the cost of medication, with insurance only paying a small portion of it. I’m getting treatment to deal with depression, anxiety, and PTSD that resulted from years of physical abuse from my father. right now I can’t afford my own place, so I’m living with him and my mom, which is very stressful and not very safe. so what I’m selling cross stitch pieces (as well as taking orders for custom pieces!) as a way to help pay for my treatment and possibly pay for gas to and from the local women’s shelter. I know that the economy has been really hard on everyone, which is way all I want in return for a cross stitch piece is a donation to my WePay account. the link is on my blog, and anonymous donations are accepted. 

if you can’t donate, it would mean so much to me to just reblog it and spread the word. cross stitching is one of my favorite hobbies, and I would love to share my work with as many people as possible. thank you so much to those who have already helped me, and I appreciate all donations. every little bit helps, no matter how small it may seem.

grief-bacon: I know I already posted about this but I figured it couldn’t hurt to put out a more official thing. This is my dad. His name is Geoffrey Michaels. He went out to teach violin lessons today (Friday 10/12) and never returned. He has been missing for approximately 12 hours as of the time of this post. He lives in Collingswood, NJ but was scheduled to teach in Swarthmore and Upper Darby, PA, so if anyone near Philadelphia (either in PA or NJ) has seen him (and/or his car, a grey Mazda 3), please call 911 or contact the Collingswood police at 856-854-1901. They have a Silver Alert out on him. He is a white male, 68 years old, 5’8” and 130 lbs, with grey hair and blue/grey eyes. I hesitate to say that he suffers from dementia but he has been experiencing problems with memory loss recently. He speaks with an Australian accent. Again, if you know anything, please contact the police or message me. I know this isn’t the standard missing-persons post I see going around tumblr but I just want my dad home safe.

Tell Congress: Women's history needs a home!

There is one vacant site left on the National Mall – it is time for Congress to act now!  For the last nine years the National Women’s History Museum has petitioned Congress for a permanent home on or near the National Mall, offering to build the Museum with private monies - not at taxpayer’s expense - yet our efforts continue to be blocked.  Do not make women wait even one more year to gain the recognition they deserve. 

YES. Do it.

Mary Anderson invented windshield wipers.

Hedy Lamarr was a pioneer in wireless communication.

Rosalind Franklin discovered DNA.

And all they get for their efforts is anonymity and bad sandwich jokes.

They deserve better.

A place in a women’s history museum would be a good start.

Target has issued a recall of their Boots and Barkley Bully Sticks.

The recalled American Beef Bully Sticks were distributed nationwide through Target retail stores from April through September 2012.

The product comes in a clear plastic bag containing 6 bully sticks marked with bar code number 647263899189. Kasel Industries is recalling all lot numbers because the following lot codes tested positive [for Salmonella] through analysis by the State of Colorado Department of Agriculture: BESTBY20APR2014DEN, BESTBY01JUN2014DEN, BESTBY23JUN2014DEN, and BESTBY23SEP2014DEN.

SIGNAL BOOST & HELP SAVE SKINNY THE CAT’S LIFE BY REBLOGGING!!!

This loveable cat is named SKINNY and he needs to find a great home or he could be put down!!!

He is in Richardson TX, at the Richardson Animal Shelter and is 42 pounds! They found him as a stray and now is up for adoption and if he doesn’t find a home, they could put him down!

Here are some facts about this truly sweet gentle giant:

  • This ball of love is very VERY overweight, and needs to be put on a diet.  He needs the help of an experienced cat lover to adopt him and a Vet to help him start losing weight
  • He cannot use a normal litter box, he is so big he cannot step into and out of a regular litter box. He needs a box that has a side cut off that he can walk straight into. At the shelter, they don’t even have that. He has to pee on a floor, where he sleeps!
  • He is neutered, a boy, and around 5 years old.
  • He loves to be loved, and played with. He is very sweet with men and women!

With someones help this lovely cat, named by the shelter Skinny, could have a long and happy life, since he is only 5, if he could get a good home, and start on a diet! Please help me find this sweet cat a home. He loves to be petted, and played with, and if he doesn’t find a home, he will die. Please SIGNAL BOOST!!! Help an animal!!!
